Diageo, the owner of Guinness, is planning to redevelop part of the brewery's expansive Dublin site, renovating the historic buildings in a scheme to create offices, shops, hotels and housing. This vat house retains its early form and industrial character. Built as part of an early expansion phase, it is one of the earliest surviving buildings on site, along with the neighbouring vat house attached to the east.
As part of this reimagining, DRINKSOLOGY has been working behind the scenes to conceptualise new usages for the most historically significant buildings. Below is just a glimpse of one such example... the original VAT house dating back to the late 1700's... preserved and reimagined.
