Ukiyo Hold Frame.jpg

A harmonious blend of Japanese aesthetic and commercial logic

This is one of our own and as per the namesake, Ukiyo spirits are an exercise in “living in the moment,” a philosophy reflected in a unique bottle design that balances beauty alongside rigorous commercial logic. Spanning four gin variants and a vodka, the silhouette is a tribute to the landscape surrounding Tokyo, mirroring the iconic slopes of Mount Fuji and the movement of the ocean. In a world-first technical achievement, the glass features a two-colour graduation that shifts between distinct hues rather than simple tonal fades. The internal architecture of the bottle also reveals an optical master step - a deep punt that refracts the vibrant colours from the bottle’s shoulder whilst also serving as a vital engineering feature. By adjusting the depth of the punt, our studio maintained a uniform outer silhouette across different global pack sizes enabling a cascade of cost efficiencies. The tactile experience culminates in the heavily weighted and intricately embossed Zamak closure that quite literally tops it all off.
